Hello to everyone who visits the Bichon Poo Review.

I first want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support of this site for the past two years. I just can't believe the response I've had. The number of visitors to the site, comments, emails, etc., have been heart-warming and very special. I honestly keep all emails as I have a file set up specifically for the BichonPooReview.  Most of all I want to thank the wonderful friends I've made who have contributed so much to the Bichon Poo Discussion Board. Without all of you, I really believe this site wouldn't be nearly as successful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I know everyone is probably wondering why I have decided to add a Donation button to the web site. For those of you who don't know, I had mentioned this several months back on the Discussion Board and luckily no one balked at the idea which I was very surprised with. :-)  I really had hoped to not have to implement one but I think the time has finally come where I just don't have a choice. With four children, one of which is disabled with macrocephaly -- a mother disabled and on a morphine pump (and I'm the only child)-- etc., etc., time and money are stretched right to the limit. I had major (very major) surgery in late Spring of this year -- recovery took longer than expected -- and I fell literally four months behind in photo posting, updating the site, and being present on the board. I feel and have felt terrible over my lack of presence. Please, however, don't feel that this is meant to be interpreted as wanting sympathy or sympathy donations as it is not. I am simply just trying to explain why I have come to this decision.

Although I am planning, from this point on, to keep up-to-date there are, of course, never guarantees. So, I am considering delegating some of the updating to someone else -- perhaps my daughter (she'll be 14 soon). She is quite Internet savvy and is anxious to dig into web design.  I would be overlooking and critiquing her work before it was posted to the Net.

Since visitors and photos seem to be building at a very fast rate, I have had to increase bandwidth and web space parameters. I also am looking at moving the discussion board up to the "paid" version through Bravenet which would be more reliable and able to withstand much more traffic. All of this costs money. Renewing the domain name yearly is yet another cost, though nominal. However, when you start adding things all together, they come to a much larger total than I had ever anticipated.

Anyway, to make a long (very - lol) story short, I am adding the donation button in a few spots throughout the site. Please do not feel obligated to donate. I especially don't want my regular friends of the BichonPooReview to feel that they have to do this to remain active on the site. Friendships are never based on monetary value and I would never think less of you for not donating. I really am aware of how difficult the economy is and how tough it has been on a lot of people besides me. I very seriously ONLY want donations if you really wish to donate. Any and all donations would be very greatly appreciated -- from 50-cents to whatever. Any little bit always helps defray costs.

The donations are made through PayPal. Hopefully most people are familiar with PayPal as they are an eBay company and also are accepted by many major retailers now. If not, you can find out more by going directly to PayPal.com.  The donations are 100% secure, go directly to my account (I have had an account for over 7 years), and you will receive a tax deductible receipt from PayPal.

In addition, I am considering -- just considering at this point -- a Sponsorship page. Some ideas that I have are:

  • Sponsors listed on a Sponsors of the BichonPooReview.com page.

  • A Personal BichonPoo (full) page for each Sponsor's pooch.

I will add more suggestions to this as I continue thinking on it. Any suggestions or ideas are always welcome as well! Please email me here:

I am also looking at creating a BichonPoo Rescue Dog page for the site. I have had a few little Poo's now who have been rescued from shelter's, vet's, etc. that had no homes. I think maybe there are a lot more of these precious little pups out there! I'd really like to help them out! Any thoughts or ideas on this would be great too!

I hope that I have explained my reasons for adding the donation links so that they answer everyone's questions. If not, please don't hesitate to contact me with questions.

Thank you for everyone's understanding and for taking the time to read this. It is greatly appreciated. I will continue to strive for an updated, informational, Bichon Poo web site for everyone -- with or without any donations. This site and everyone's contributions to it mean the world to me.

Thanks so much!
